UK to launch Electronic Travel Visa for Kuwaiti Citizens

The British Ambassador, H.E Belinda Lewis expressed her pride in the United Kingdom’s continued popularity as a travel destination for Kuwaiti nationals. With the launch of the electronic travel permit on February 22, she encouraged more Kuwaiti visitors to take advantage of the opportunity to visit the UK, reported Al-Rai Daily.

The electronic travel permit or Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) will be available for Kuwaiti citizens, citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and other Jordanians. Lewis highlighted that for a cost of 10 pounds sterling (around 4 Kuwaiti dinars), the ETA offers unlimited short trips to the UK, including stays of up to six months for the purpose of tourism, visiting family and friends, conducting business, studying, or transiting to another destination.

The permit remains valid for two years or until the passport used to apply for it expires. Unlike its predecessor, the Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW), the ETA can be used multiple times within the two-year validity period and is not linked to a specific trip, allowing for more flexibility. The British Ambassador emphasized that the ETA would make short trips to the UK more spontaneous and convenient. She further encouraged Kuwaiti visitors to take advantage of the opportunity to experience the cultural, historical, and scenic attractions that the United Kingdom has to offer.
