Kuwait Municipality lauds private sector participation in beach clean-up campaigns
The Kuwait Municipality expressed its appreciation for private sector efforts to support environmental initiatives, highlighting their role in maintaining the cleanliness of public beaches.
Under the patronage of the Capital Governor, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali, the municipality, in collaboration with private sector partners, organized a campaign titled “Our Beaches Are Beautiful, Let’s Preserve Them” aimed at cleaning the Kuwait Towers beach.
The initiative saw active participation from the Kuwait Continental Hotel Group and its employees, who helped maintain the cleanliness of Al-Abraj Beach. The municipality praised the group for sending a strong message to society about the importance of preserving beaches and their facilities.
A statement from the Municipality’s Public Relations Department emphasized that such initiatives raise awareness among both citizens and residents, encouraging everyone to play their part in environmental stewardship.
The clean-up drive received logistical and operational support from the field team of the Capital Governorate’s Cleanliness and Road Occupancy Department, ensuring effective coordination and execution of the campaign.
Representatives from various governmental and civil society organizations also joined the initiative, demonstrating a collaborative approach between public institutions and the private sector in preserving Kuwait’s coastal areas.
The campaign not only focused on removing waste but also on educating the public about the environmental and social importance of clean beaches. Participants highlighted the role of such initiatives in promoting community responsibility and sustainability.
