The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) announced on Monday the launch of the third edition of its “Al-Jaras” (The Bell) financial literacy initiative, an awareness program running throughout October and bringing together six professional, academic, and investment entities. In a press release, the KSE stated that the initiative aims to make investment concepts more accessible to the public and help individuals understand their financial options and associated risks through interactive sessions, workshops, and digital content that connects knowledge to practical life needs and developments in the Kuwaiti capital market.
The KSE explained that this new edition reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that market development and the expansion of investment options are accompanied by continuous public awareness efforts. With the diversification of products and ease of access to information, the need arises for reliable content that clearly explains concepts and helps investors ask the right questions and understand what suits their goals and capabilities, avoiding complexity or being misled by incomplete information.
The KSE noted that the initiative is being organized in cooperation with the CFA Institute, the CFA Society Kuwait, Gulf Capital Investment Company, Kuwait University, Kuwait Credit Information Network Company, and the Union of Investment Companies.
The Boursa added that this diversity allows for a combination of investment expertise, university education, and corporate experience to deliver a program that addresses investors, students, and young professionals, providing each group with knowledge tailored to their specific needs. The exchange stated that the program coincides with the tenth edition of World Investor Week, led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to enhance investor awareness and protection, and supported by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) through its “Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy” campaign.
The statement quoted Nasser Al-Sanousi, Senior Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Boursa Kuwait, as emphasizing that knowledge is the foundation of informed investment and that market development is only truly valuable when people understand the available options and how to navigate them. Al-Sanousi added that the “Ring the Bell” initiative brings this knowledge closer to the public through clear language and reliable content, helping individuals understand opportunities and risks before making decisions.
He noted that this represents an ongoing commitment translated into practical programs and partnerships that combine expertise with community outreach. He pointed out that the third edition will more closely link awareness to market developments and the questions that concern investors, especially young people, explaining that investors need to understand their options, students need to connect their studies to real-world applications, and entrepreneurs need to understand the requirements for their company’s growth.
He said, “We will work with our partners to provide content that serves these needs and encourages learning and questioning. Our ambition is for financial literacy to become part of our thinking and decision-making processes, and for the initiative’s impact to remain even after its activities conclude.”
Since its launch in 2024, the “Al Jaras” initiative has built partnerships with more than ten entities, and its programs have reached over two thousand beneficiaries. Its presence has also extended through the “Al Jaras” podcast, which has garnered more than two million views across four seasons. This has broadened the reach of financial and investment content to an audience that goes beyond those participating in face-to-face meetings, allowing people to benefit from discussions and experiences shared at different times and places.
