For the first time in the region, Kuwait will host the Moscow Seasons Festival, one of Moscow’s most renowned cultural events, from September 25 to 27. Supported by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kuwait, the festival will showcase the rich heritage, art, and music of the Russian capital through a diverse program of performances and cultural activities.
The celebrations, according to reports, will take place at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre and The Avenues Mall, offering visitors a chance to explore Moscow’s traditions, modern attractions, and artistic vitality.
The festival will close with a grand concert at the Sheikh Jaber Cultural Centre on September 27, featuring the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of world-renowned maestro Ivan Rodin.
The orchestra will perform two Russian masterpieces: Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘Scheherazade’ and Stravinsky’s ‘The Firebird’. The evening will also include a traditional “Moscow Tea” ceremony, authentic Muscovite sweets, and themed photo opportunities inspired by Moscow’s Palaces Festival.
Yevgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, emphasized Kuwait’s growing interest in Moscow, noting that in 2024 the city welcomed around 16,500 Kuwaiti visitors — a tenfold increase compared to 2019. He described the festival as a cultural bridge that strengthens tourism and mutual understanding between the two nations.
At The Avenues, the festival will recreate the spirit of Moscow through live performances, photo exhibitions, interactive activities, and a tourism information center, bringing Muscovite charm to the heart of Kuwait.
This event marks a new milestone in cultural and tourism cooperation between Kuwait and Russia, offering audiences a unique window into Moscow’s creativity and heritage.
