Avenues Mall hosts closing ceremony of ‘Indian Mango Week’ in Kuwait

The Avenues Mall came alive with vibrant colors and sweet aromas as it hosted the closing ceremony of “Indian Mango Week”, an event organized by the Embassy of India in Kuwait in partnership with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

The celebration drew a distinguished crowd, including senior Kuwaiti officials, ambassadors, diplomats, media professionals, and mango enthusiasts, all gathered to honor one of India’s most iconic exports.

As part of India’s broader efforts to promote agricultural trade with Kuwait, the event showcased the incredible diversity and quality of Indian mangoes.

The festivities included “Mango Mania” festivals, featuring tasting sessions of unique mango varieties imported from the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, regions known for producing some of the world’s most flavorful mangoes.

Among the varieties presented were Chausa, Mallika. Amrapali, Dasheri, Fazli and Langra

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika, led the event, highlighting India’s agricultural richness and inviting guests to savor the seasonal delights. He emphasized the role of mango exports in strengthening Indo-Kuwaiti trade ties.

Ambassador Swaika noted that Kuwait ranks among the top five global importers of Indian mangoes, with import values reaching approximately $3 million in 2024. This reflects Kuwait’s increasing appetite for high-quality Indian agricultural products.

In conjunction with the closing ceremony, the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a business meeting between leading Indian mango exporters and local Kuwaiti importers.

The meeting, attended by Ambassador Swaika and the Chamber’s Director General, aimed to explore new partnerships and investment opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The ten-member Indian delegation represented some of India’s top mango exporters, expressing strong interest in expanding their footprint in the Kuwaiti market.

This initiative is part of a larger series of promotional campaigns launched by the Indian Embassy to enhance trade cooperation with Kuwait; promote Indian agri-products, strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two nations.\

India positions itself as a reliable and quality-driven supplier of not only mangoes, but also a wide range of value-added agricultural exports.

The “Indian Mango Week” served as both a culinary celebration and a strategic trade initiative, reinforcing the robust and growing relationship between India and Kuwait through the universal language of food.
