Kuwait allocates Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Base site to Coast Guard

The technical committee of the Municipal Council has approved a request by the Ministry of Interior to reallocate the Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah base site for use by the Coast Guard, strengthening maritime security infrastructure in the country.

The site is located on the northern artificial island of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Bridge, a strategically important area for coastal operations.

The decision was made during the committee’s meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Engineer Munira Al-Amir.

In the same session, the committee also approved a request to annex and add state-owned land adjacent to a plot in the eastern part of Block 8.

Additionally, it approved a request from the General Administration of Customs to expand facilities at the Nuwaiseeb border crossing.

Separately, the committee endorsed a proposal by Council Chairman Abdullah Al-Mahri to include the retail sale of cosmetics and beauty products within women’s salon activities.

The approvals reflect ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure planning, support security agencies, and regulate commercial activities in line with municipal development plans.
