Military officer detained for attempting to smuggle phone into Central Prison

A military officer assigned to prison security has been referred to the Sulaibiya Police Station after he was caught attempting to smuggle smartphone into the Central Prison.
According to a security source, the officer arrived for duty late and was subjected to routine inspection. When he passed a metal detector and a materials scanner, the devices went off, prompting a full search which led to the discovery of the hidden mobile phone.
Prison authorities immediately notified the Director-General of the General Administration of Correctional Institutions, who ordered the officer’s referral to the relevant authorities for further action.
The Criminal Investigation Department has now launched a comprehensive probe to find out if the officer has previously smuggled other items such as phones, drugs, or contraband, and to identify inmates he may have conspired with.
