Medical readiness in action: ‘Support 2’ simulates KNG emergency coordination

The Kuwait National Guard (KNG) carried out the “Support 2” joint exercise on Tuesday, with the participation from the ministries of Defense, Interior, and Health, along with the Kuwait Fire Force.
The large-scale drill was held in the presence of the Undersecretary of the National Guard, Lieutenant-General Engineer Hashem Al-Rifai, and senior representatives from military and civilian agencies.
During the event, Al-Rifai conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Deputy Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to all participating personnel.
The exercise, now in its second consecutive year, was organized by the Assistant for Administrative Support Command and aims to enhance joint cooperation, boost inter-agency coordination, and demonstrate the National Guard’s medical and logistical capabilities. It is a core component of the National Guard’s 2030 Strategic Plan under the title “Protect the Nation.”
Lieutenant-General Al-Rifai emphasized that the drill serves to test the operational readiness of the administrative support units, particularly the field hospital, and to evaluate their ability to respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively.
He praised the dedication of those overseeing the exercise and reaffirmed the Guard’s commitment to supporting national security and stability under the country’s wise leadership.
Major-General Engineer Essam Nayef, Assistant for Administrative Support, highlighted that the “Support 2” drill is an essential step in activating cooperation protocols with state entities. It tested the response speed of medical teams, the coordination of medical evacuations, and the ability to deliver first aid and onsite healthcare in critical situations.
He underlined the importance of such exercises in maintaining readiness and ensuring a unified and efficient response in times of crisis, safeguarding the lives of citizens and residents alike.
