‘Sky Shield 25’ exercise ends with display of Kuwait’s air defense prowess
Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah witnessed the conclusion of event and began his visit with a briefing on the Air Defense Force’s duties, readiness, and training programs to strengthen its defense capabilities.

• The ‘Sky Shield 25’ exercise aims to raise the readiness and combat efficiency of Air Defense Force units, strengthen their ability to protect the country’s airspace, and improve coordination on command, control, and communication procedures between combat units and the Air Force Operations Center.
On Thursday morning, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah paid a visit to the Air Defense Force, accompanied by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
He was received by Air Defense Force Commander Major General Khaled Daraj Al-Shariaan, along with several senior commanders and officers, according to Arabic daily Al Jarida.
The Minister of Defense began his visit by receiving a comprehensive briefing on the tasks and responsibilities of the Air Defense Force. The presentation included an overview of the force’s level of readiness, preparedness, and the training and qualification programs designed to enhance the capabilities of its defense systems.
Following the briefing, the minister conducted an inspection tour of the field sites of various Air Defense Force units. He visited the Operations Center of the “Regional Air Defense Brigade/9” to observe the progress of the “Sky Shield/25” exercise, currently being conducted by members of the Air Defense Force in cooperation with the Air Force.
The exercise aims to raise the readiness and combat efficiency of Air Defense Force units, strengthen their ability to protect the country’s airspace, and improve coordination on command, control, and communication procedures between combat units and the Air Force Operations Center. This is achieved by activating the Air Defense Force Operations Center in coordination with both the Joint Operations Center and the Air Force Operations Center.
The Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior also inspected the Fire Control and Direction Center, the Patriot system maintenance workshop, and the missile disassembly and assembly workshop, where he was briefed on the operations and technologies used to maintain the combat and technical readiness of air defense systems.
At the end of his tour, the Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah, expressed his pride in the efforts made by the members of the Air Defense Force during the exercise. He praised the high level of efficiency and dedication he witnessed, which reflects the spirit of commitment and loyalty that distinguishes our armed forces.
He highlighted the pivotal role of the Air Defense Force in defending the nation’s airspace, emphasizing its importance as a fundamental pillar of our defense system. He underscored the need to maintain the highest levels of vigilance, readiness, and preparedness to safeguard the security and safety of the homeland.
He also stressed the importance of continuing this approach to strengthen defense capabilities in service of the nation and in alignment with the aspirations of the wise leadership, led by His Highness the Amir of the country, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
