Al-Hashash faces a new case in public funds fraud
In a recent development, the Criminal Court has decided to adjourn the trial of Brigadier General Adel Al-Hashash and a co-defendant, an Egyptian expatriate.
The trial is now scheduled to resume on January 21, with allegations centering around the misuse of public funds related to a contract for supplying meals to the police.
Brigadier General Al-Hashash, appearing from his prison cell, vehemently refuted the charges leveled against him. He asserted that, in his capacity as the director of public relations with oversight over multiple departments, he was unaware of any involvement in the mentioned contractual wrongdoing.
It’s worth noting that the Court of Cassation had previously sentenced Al-Hashash to life imprisonment in connection with embezzlement of public funds in the “Interior Hospitality” case.
