‘Every Step’ drawing initiative promotes migrant awareness in Kuwait
H.E. José Cabrera, the Ambassador of the Philippines to Kuwait, expressed appreciation for partnering with the IOM Kuwait to raise awareness of the community’s role in the development and prosperity of host countries.
• H.E. José Cabrera, the Ambassador of the Philippines to Kuwait, praised the Kuwaiti government’s measures benefiting expatriates and expressed a commitment to continuing dialogue and cooperation to foster harmonious relations between migrant workers and employers.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Kuwait, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Philippines, organized a drawing activity titled “Every Step” to celebrate International Migrants Day. The event brought together participants from various sectors, showcasing the diverse and inclusive spirit of the Kuwaiti community, as reported by Al Rai newspaper.
H.E. José Cabrera, the Ambassador of the Philippines to Kuwait, said, “The embassy highly appreciates this opportunity to partner with the International Organization for Migration in Kuwait to raise awareness of the role and contribution of the community in the development and prosperity of the countries receiving them.”
Ambassador Cabrera added, “The embassy also highly appreciates the measures implemented by the Kuwaiti government that benefit expatriates and workers in Kuwait, and it seeks to continue dialogue and cooperation, particularly with regard to programs and activities that promote harmonious and mutually beneficial relations between migrant workers and employers.”
In turn, Mazen AboulHosn, Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Kuwait, said, “This activity is a testament to the power of art in bringing people together and promoting understanding. Every step a migrant takes is a step toward a brighter future for all, and we are delighted to partner with the Embassy of the Philippines to celebrate this important day.”
He pointed out, “This event serves as a platform to raise awareness about the benefits of regular migration pathways, and by supporting such initiatives, the International Organization for Migration in the State of Kuwait and its partners aim to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for temporary contracted labor, ensuring the protection of their rights and the recognition of their contributions.”
He stated that this year’s slogan, “Every Step,” affirms that every step in the migration process is an important one that deserves attention.
Among the participants in this activity were members of the community from various professional sectors, such as the medical sector, construction, domestic labor, and others, all of whom contributed to a collective work of art symbolizing unity and joint progress.
