Kuwait to revamp curricula across all educational stages

The relevant authorities in the Ministry of Education have already begun reviewing the changes in the educational programs and are discussing the possibility of implementing them in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Jalal Al-Tabtabai, the Minister of Education, is awaiting reports from the Faculty of Education at Kuwait University and the technical guidance sector to decide whether to adopt or withdraw the curricula and design more efficient ones.

The Minister of Education confirmed the ministrys commitment to appointing all graduates of the Faculty of Basic Education from the past year to teaching positions.

 

Jalal Al-Tabtabai, the Minister of Education, has instructed radical changes to be made to the curricula at all educational stages. The relevant authorities in the ministry have already begun reviewing these changes and are discussing the possibility of implementing them in the 2025/2026 academic year, senior sources told Al Jaridanewspaper.

The sources said the subject was discussed in an expanded meeting chaired by minister Al-Tabtabai last week, where it was agreed to radically amend the curricula by using pre-developed curricula created by specialists in cooperation with the technical guidance and curriculum management teams.

They added that these curricula were presented to the technical guidance for the study subjects, with seven technical guidance teams expressing their approval, while four expressed reservations. The mentors emphasized the need for important amendments before implementation.

The sources stated that minister Al-Tabtabai directed the required amendments to be made so that the curricula are ready and applicable for the 2025/2026 academic year.

They pointed out that the minister also instructed that the curricula be sent to specialists at the Faculty of Education for their opinion on the feasibility and quality of their application.

The minister is awaiting reports on these curricula from the Faculty of Education at Kuwait University and the curricula and technical guidance sector to determine whether to adopt or withdraw them and start designing more efficient curricula.

Recruitment of all unemployed graduates

In another matter, the Minister of Education emphasized the ministry’s commitment to appoint all graduates of the Faculty of Basic Education who have not yet been employed as teachers.

Al-Tabtabai said in a letter addressed to the Teachers’ Association, a copy of which was obtained by the newspaper, that the public education sector is committed to appointing all graduates of the Faculty of Basic Education who graduated in the past year to teaching positions, noting that all graduates in physical and technical education had been appointed and integrated into their work within the ministry.

Ensuring the integrity of exams at all levels

The Ministry of Education announced the completion of forming a new committee for the Central Secret Printing Press, which has already begun its work with a thorough review of the devices and techniques used in the preparation and printing of exams, as well as verifying the security and protection systems applied at the press headquarters.

The Ministry of Education indicated that these steps, supervised by minister Al-Tabtabai, were taken to ensure the accuracy of all stages of preparation, from examination to distribution, guaranteeing the printing press operates at the highest levels of efficiency and confidentiality.

The ministry stressed its commitment to applying the highest standards of safety and confidentiality to ensure the integrity of exams at all levels. The ministry explained that the process of printing exams is progressing according to plan and schedule. The team at the secret printing press has begun preparing new forms for secondary exams.

The minister emphasized the full adherence to necessary security measures to ensure maximum protection and privacy, thus enhancing confidence in the educational system.
