‘Health Ministry’ endeavours to develop pediatric neurology and attract qualified medical professionals

The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, stated that caring for the health of children and newborns is a top priority for the ministry, which is continuously working to develop health services for them through various initiatives.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Supportive Medical Services, Dr. Abdullah Al-Fars, at the opening of the 8th Kuwait Conference on Pediatric Neurology, Minister Al-Awadhi highlighted initiatives including the establishment of specialized health facilities and increased awareness about children’s diseases as key efforts to enhance services for children’s health.

Minister Al-Awadhi explained that among these initiatives is shedding light on children’s neurological diseases and ways to combat them, along with supporting modern medical research, attracting qualified medical personnel in pediatrics, and providing the latest devices and technologies for diagnosis and treatment, such as epilepsy monitoring devices.

Importantly, Minister Al-Awadhi stressed the Ministry’s commitment to developing pediatric neurology across various hospitals by equipping them with the latest medical devices and supplies, under the supervision of a select group of qualified Kuwaiti professionals.

In a similar speech, Dr. Asmaa Al-Tawari, the Head of the Neurology and Epilepsy Unit in the Pediatrics Department at Al-Sabah Hospital and the Conference Chairperson, stated that the conference, themed “Brain Health is Our Concern from Birth to Adulthood,” represents a continuous chain of scientific and medical communication in Kuwait, focusing on key topics in pediatrics and neurology.

Dr. Al-Tawari highlighted that the conference will attract over 500 visitors and feature 39 speakers from Kuwait and various regional and international countries. It will include eight working sessions and two workshops.
