“Health Minister” inspects ‘Cooperatives Center for Addiction’

The new ‘Cooperatives Center for Addiction’ building is equipped with several health and psychological facilities designed to provide integrated services to patients affected with the drugs menace.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, inspected the building of the ‘Cooperatives Center for Addiction’ to review the latest preparations and developments, ahead of its opening and operation within the next few weeks.

The Ministry of Health stated that the visit aimed to ensure the center’s readiness and adherence to all required health and technical specifications. This is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to establish the center as an integrated and specialized facility in combating the drugs menace and to reduce its spread in society.

The center is part of Kuwait’s comprehensive national strategy to assist those seeking treatment and recovery from addiction, enhancing the State’s capacity to provide specialized healthcare in this important and very critical area.

Furthermore, Al-Awadi explained that the new building consists of four floors, in addition to the ground floor, and is equipped with a range of health and psychological facilities designed to provide integrated services to patients.

Highlighting the centre’s capacity, Al-Awadi shared that the center can accommodate 208 patients, ensuring that care and support are provided to a larger number of cases. It also features parking spaces with a capacity for up to 100 cars, making it easier for visitors, patients, and their families to access the facility and providing a more comfortable and private experience.

Regarding quality services at the centre, Al-Awadi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the engineering and health teams, in equipping the medical facility, emphasizing the importance of completing the project according to the highest international standards, ensuring successful achievement of the center’s objectives.

When it comes better health of citizens, Al-Awadi added that the Ministry of Health is committed in providing all necessary resources, to support and assist individuals in recovering from addiction. As this is part of its vision to improve the quality of life for citizens and protect society from the dangers of drugs.

The Minister of Health was accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi; Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs and Projects, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Naham and; a group of Engineers from the Ministry of Health.
