The Ministry of Health, represented by the Kuwait Center for Disease Prevention and Control, launched the Epidemiological Intelligence from Open Sources (EIOS) platform. It’s a global platform based on digital technology, to monitor and analyze public health information from thousands of sources, 24×7.
The launch of the platform coincided with the organization of a training workshop, attended by experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), aiming to qualify national cadres in using the platform and analyzing its data effectively.
The Ministry explained that the platform aims to enhance its capabilities in early detection, verification and monitoring of public health threats, by collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources. This would include; media, social media, health reports and government websites.
This initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance health security, and raise the level of readiness and rapid response to health crises, thereby taking advantage of the latest scientific technologies.
