The UAE Ministry of Education has announced the full resumption of in-person learning for all students, staff, and children in nurseries, kindergartens, and both public and private schools starting April 20, 2026.
The decision follows the completion of comprehensive preparations, including facility readiness, staff training, and updated safety and security protocols, aimed at ensuring a safe and stable learning environment for students and their families, reports Al-Rai daily.
The ministry noted that private schools will retain flexibility to implement hybrid or alternating learning models when necessary, under the supervision of local education authorities. This approach will depend on each institution’s readiness while ensuring smooth educational delivery.
It also emphasized that schools adopting hybrid systems must organize staff distribution carefully, ensuring that teachers are not required to handle both in-person and remote instruction simultaneously, in order to maintain education quality and avoid overburdening staff.
Authorities confirmed that all educational institutions will remain prepared to shift to alternative learning methods if needed, ensuring continuity and adaptability in the education system.
