Rationalizing electricity and water consumption is not just an economic necessity, but rather a national duty
The Hawalli Governorate, under the patronage of Governor, Ali Al-Asfar, and in cooperation with the “Hafez Team” which is affiliated with the Ministry of Electricity and Water, organized an open meeting with citizens on the importance of rationalizing energy consumption.
The meeting was attended by a number of ministry leaders and citizens who interacted with the discussions on raising awareness about the importance of rationalizing energy consumption, and providing guidance to citizens, on how to reduce energy consumption in their daily lives.
The meeting included practical advice and guidance on the efficient use of electrical appliances, in addition to presenting the Ministry’s initiatives in this field. The importance of cooperation between society and government agencies to achieve sustainability goals and preserve natural resources was also emphasized.
The Governor of Hawalli stressed the importance of rationalizing electricity and water consumption, which is a collective responsibility that requires everyone’s cooperation. Also he mentioned that water and electricity resources are national wealth that must be preserved for future generations; by adopting simple methods in our daily lives to achieve a sustainable environment, and ensure continuity of these vital resources.
Importantly, the Governor pointed out that awareness of the importance of rationalizing consumption is not limited to individuals only. But it must extend to institutions and companies, by organizing awareness events and workshops that aim to promote a responsible consumer culture in society.
Furthermore, the Governor added that rationalizing electricity and water consumption is not just an economic necessity, but rather a national duty that contributes to protecting the environment and ensuring the sustainability of resources, for future generations through cooperation and commitment.
Expressing gratitude, the Governor of Hawalli thanked and appreciated all the attendees, and highlighted the importance of their role in promoting the culture of rationalizing energy consumption. He also praised the efforts made by the Hafez Team, in spreading awareness among citizens and society.
Whereas, the Director of the Automated Customer Services Center at the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Eng. Saud Al-Hayyan, gave a visual presentation, in which he explained about the ‘Incentive for Rationalization’ system, the registration mechanism, and the discount for citizens.
