754,000 individuals failed to complete biometric fingerprinting until now

The Ministry of Interior renewed its call for those who have not yet applied to take the biometric fingerprint; they must apply before the end of the deadline allocated to residents, which is at the end of this year.

So far 3 million, 32 thousand, and 971 people have done the biometric fingerprint registration, compared to 754 thousand, 852 people who have not yet done so; it was revealed by the Ministry.

While the deadline for citizens concluded at the end of last September. The officer of the Personal Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant Colonel Thamer Dakhin Al-Mutairi, mentioned in a statement to Kuwait TV, that the last day for the deadline for taking the biometric fingerprint of residents will be on 31 December 2024.

Al-Mutairi indicated that the official locations and working hours for taking the biometric fingerprint have been determined at the General Department of Criminal Evidence in the Personal Investigation Departments.

Furthermore, Al-Mutairi stated that the residents who are yet to register, can book an appointment to conduct their biometric fingerprint through the government application “Sahel” or the electronic platform “Mattā”.

Moreover, they can choose the appropriate location closer to them from each of the Hawalli Security Directorate; Farwaniya Security Directorate; Ahmadi Security Directorate; Mubarak Al-Kabeer Security Directorate; Jahra Security Directorate; Personality Investigation Department for Corporate Fingerprinting in the Ali Sabah Al-Salem area ‘Umm Al-Hayman’ and; Personality Investigation Department for Corporate Fingerprinting in the Jahra area.

Al-Mutairi called upon those wishing to have their fingerprints taken, to make an appointment in advance and go to the chosen location at the specified time to avoid crowding, noting that anyone who does not have an appointment, will not be accepted.

The deadline for citizens had ended at the end of last September, after which a “block” was placed, that stopped all government and banking transactions for citizens who did not take a fingerprint.

On the other hand, the matter remained available for those who wished to take a fingerprint, by visiting the Security Directorate, where the “block” would be lifted from the citizen immediately after taking the fingerprint.
