Fire breaks out in residential building, three perish, 10 injured

The fire that broke out in two residential apartments in Riqqa today morning resulted in the death of three people and caused injury to ten others.

The Kuwait Fire Force said firefighting units from the Shuwaikh Industrial and Al-Ardhiya centers, along with the Search and Rescue Department, rushed to the site and brought the fire under control at dawn today (Sunday).

The Al-Jarida daily added, some of the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital by paramedics while others received treatment at the site.

In a statement, the Public Relations and Media Department of the Kuwait Fire Force said the concerned department is investigating the cause of the fire, at the same time urging all building owners to comply with safety and fire prevention regulations.
