Acceleration of T2 crucial says Cabinet

The Council of Ministers held its weekly meeting this morning at Kuwait International Airport (new passenger terminal T2), headed by the Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah.

At the outset, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah outlined the importance of the Kuwait International Airport T2 project as one of the major development projects in the country. He directed the concerned government agencies, during an inspection tour he conducted of the Kuwait International Airport T2 project, with his family and his cabinet ministers, to cooperate with the Ministry of Public Works to overcome all obstacles that may be faced during the implementation of the project. He also called upon an acceleration in the pace of work on it, with the aim of achieving consistent progress on this vital project as per the prescribed timelines and schedule.

The Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mishaan went through a presentation on the latest developments and changes on project status, highlighting that the interest in infrastructure development of the air transport sector in the country is at the top of the government’s priorities. It would like to adopt the best standards in the field of civil aviation, considering that the T2 project is one of the smart projects and the iconic building is a modern, distinguished one with state-of-the-art systems and services in place.

The Chairman of the General Administration of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah, also gave a presentation on the operation of the new passenger building T2 in accordance with international regulations and the achievement of full operational readiness of the building.

Al-Abdullah praised the efforts of the Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mishaan, the Chairman of the General Administration of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah, and all those responsible for implementing this project with the concerned government agencies, outlining the need to work with team spirit to complete this project, a qualitative leap in the field of air transport in Kuwait.
