Filipino victims of fire in Mangaf to receive financial aid and repatriation of remains

Filipino victims of the recent fire in Mangaf will receive financial aid from Kuwait and assistance to repatriate remains to Philippines according to Philippine Congressman Ron Salo on his meeting with First Deputy Prime Minster and Minister of Defense of Kuwait Shiekh Fahad Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah.
In a press release posted in Congressman Salo’s account stated that the First Deputy Prime Minister has offered a financial assistance of US15,000 and insurance benefits to each of the death casualty which will be released to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait and hand over to the their families in the Philippines. The Deputy Prime Minister also assured the immediate repatriation of the remains.
“We thank His Excellency Fahad and to the Kuwait Government for the financial assistance to the families of the OFW victims. It is a resounding proof of Kuwait’s Government’s genuine concern on the welfare of our kababayans working in Kuwait,” stated the Congressman.
The visit of the lawmaker in Kuwait is one of the Middle Eastern countries , which aims in meeting the Filipino Overseas Workers and check on their conditions and welfare. He also thanked the Filipino community for the warm welcome. The congressman’s visit coincided with the celebration of the 126th Independence Day of the Philippines in the country.
