76 flights to carry 8,000 Hajj pilgrims from Kuwait to Jeddah

• “Preparations have been made to deal with the Hajj season according to the highest standards, ensuring smooth movement of passengers through an integrated plan,” said Mansour Al-Hashemi, the Director of Kuwait Airport Operations at the administration.

• The departing pilgrims have been allocated seats on 76 flights, distributed among various airline companies as follows: 29 flights by Kuwait Airways, 12 flights by Jazeera Airways, 25 flights by Saudi Airlines, and ten flights by Flynas.

Following extensive preparations in Kuwait and the Holy Land for the Hajj mission, the official work of the mission and its campaign teams has commenced.

According to a report in Al Rai newspaper, the launch of Hajj flights has begun, aiming to transport approximately 8,000 Hajj pilgrims on 76 flights across various airlines.

The first batch of pilgrims departed on Sunday via four flights to Jeddah from terminals T1, T4, and T5 including two Kuwait Airways flights, a Jazeera Airways flight, and a Saudi Airlines flight. Today, Monday, the three terminals will witness the departure of the largest number of pilgrims. Pilgrimage flights will continue with a fleet of flights until Wednesday.

Al-Rai newspaper monitored the preparations of the General Administration of Civil Aviation and Kuwait Airport to facilitate the travel of pilgrims, overcome all obstacles they face, and provide all logistical support for their comfortable departure.

In this regard, Mansour Al-Hashemi, the Director of Kuwait Airport Operations at the administration, told Al-Rai that “Kuwait Airport witnessed the departure of the first flights of the guests of God to the Holy Land,” noting that “the pilgrims, numbering about 8,000, were distributed among a number of airline companies, with 76 flights in total, allocated shares to each airline: 29 flights for Kuwait Airways, 12 flights for Jazeera Airways, 25 flights for Saudi Airlines, and 10 flights for Flynas. The flights depart through the three terminals of the airport, T1, T4, and T5, directly to Jeddah Airport.”

Al-Hashemi explained, “The General Administration of Civil Aviation prepared for the departure of the pilgrims by allocating fieldwork teams from the Operations Department, in coordination with the Ministries of Endowments and Health, to guide and direct the pilgrims. Additionally, the Ministry of Interior, Customs Administration, and Ground Services are working in full swing to mitigate and facilitate all capabilities and efforts to ensure the successful travel of Kuwaiti pilgrims.”

He pointed out that “preparations have been made to deal with the Hajj season according to the highest standards, ensuring smooth movement of passengers through an integrated plan. This plan involved coordination with the Ministries of Health and Interior, ground service providers, and airlines participating in the Hajj season to facilitate pilgrims. This included adopting a mechanism to deliver boarding passes to pilgrims before their flights or during their entry to the airport, ensuring they do not experience any congestion or delays with other passengers.”

Special counters were allocated for pilgrims, and coordination was made with customs and the interior to expedite the process of inserting bags at departure.
