Kuwait launches action plan to revitalize stalled projects

In accordance with the decisions made by the Council of Ministers during its first meeting, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, last Sunday, the government has initiated action across the state’s regions. Priorities have been set and urgent plans developed to accelerate stalled projects, with a timetable for implementation.

Efforts are also focused on enhancing performance in the state’s regions, streamlining administrative processes, and completing the digital transformation.

An informed government source has revealed the first new projects will commence in the near future. The government has approved a significant recruitment drive for citizens, totaling approximately 15,000 jobs across various government agencies. These positions will be announced in batches by the Civil Service Commission throughout this month.

The source further explained to Al-Qabas newspaper the government has recently approved requests from government agencies regarding their staffing needs.

The source indicated that the Economic Affairs Committee in the Council of Ministers will convene a meeting next week to discuss proposals for minor amendments to the strategic alternative and improving the standard of living. These proposals will then be prepared for submission to the Council of Ministers.

Regarding development achievements, the source confirmed that the government will establish a committee to collaborate with China and oversee major projects.

This includes developments in the North Islands and Mubarak Port, as well as housing initiatives, renewable energy projects, and other endeavors aimed at diversifying the state’s non-oil resources.

The source also revealed a government plan to attract global foreign investments, enhance the country’s domestic product, and create a new, developed, and attractive commercial and entertainment area for investors.

The source stated that the budgets will be approved in the next cabinet session to begin completing many government projects awaiting approval and completion.

This is to drive tangible development, with the note that the board of directors of the Tender Committee will be formed next week.

The source indicated that each government agency has developed an integrated plan to accelerate the implementation of development projects, enhance digital services, and uphold principles of justice and transparency.

Additionally, they are activating measures to protect public funds, enhance integrity, and combat all forms of corruption. Reports on the executive status of ongoing projects and completion schedules will be submitted to the Council of Ministers.

Furthermore, ministers and leaders in the state’s regions have been actively touring projects, businesses, and government departments. This is in line with the directives of the political leadership, emphasizing the importance of field visits.

Dr. Mahmoud Bushahri, the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, as well as the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, emphasized the importance of measures to expedite housing projects. He also highlighted the need for intensified awareness campaigns promoting the use of renewable and alternative energy in construction, aiming to conserve electrical energy.

Meanwhile, Dr. Muhammad Al-Wasmi, the Minister of Justice and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, attended a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council. Discussions focused on expediting electronic litigation procedures, advancing digital transformation, and enhancing the court system’s development.
