Kuwait Journalists Association stands strong with Kuwaiti press

The Kuwait Journalists Association has reiterated its firm trust and admiration for the Kuwaiti press, including both its organizations and individuals. They have also reaffirmed their dedication to supporting His Highness the Amir, the nation’s father and leader, in guiding this beloved country’s path forward.

In a statement, the association said, “With the utmost appreciation and attention, the Kuwait Journalists Association has followed the historic speech of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect him). He delivered this speech on Friday evening, May 10, addressing the Kuwaiti people. We acknowledge His Highness’s order (may God protect him) to dissolve the National Assembly and suspend the application of some articles of the constitution for a period not exceeding four years, to study and review the democratic process in general.”

The statement added, “The Kuwait Journalists Association affirms the contents of the lofty speech, which is considered a document of paramount importance in the history of modern Kuwait and defines the best paths for its present and future. The association also expresses its full confidence and pride in the Kuwaiti press — both institutions and individuals — which will provide help and support to His Highness the Amir, the father of all, and the leader of this beloved country’s journey, assuring His Highness (may God protect him) of their obedience and commitment.”
