UK, Palestinian embassies join hands to boost Palestinian exports to Kuwait

The two embassies hosted a delegation from the British Consulate in Jerusalem along with the UK-funded ‘Tasdeer’ team, aiming to strategize ways to increase the export of top-tier Palestinian goods and services to Kuwait.

  • “The joint effort between the British and Palestinian Embassies to support the Palestinian economy is a top priority for my team, and we anticipate signing several commercial contracts with Kuwaiti companies in the near future,” said Her Excellency Belinda Lewis, the British Ambassador to Kuwait.

The previous week saw a collaborative effort between the British and Palestinian Embassies in Kuwait, hosting a delegation from the British Consulate in Jerusalem along with the UK-funded “Tasdeer” team. This successful visit aimed to strategize ways to increase the export of top-tier Palestinian goods and services to Kuwait.

The delegation had a packed schedule in Kuwait, including meetings with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lulu Hypermarket as well as other private companies specializing in logistics, food and drink, stone and marble, and telecommunications. Each meeting welcomed the delegation warmly and expressed support for the proposed export campaign.

Her Excellency Belinda Lewis, the British Ambassador to Kuwait, commented, “This visit from our colleagues in Jerusalem was extremely valuable and warmly received. Kuwait shows a strong interest in high-quality Palestinian products, especially in food, textiles, stone, and marble. Therefore, the UK-funded Tasdeer team is diligently working on logistics, customs requirements, and other practical aspects to boost exports efficiently. This joint effort between the British and Palestinian Embassies to support the Palestinian economy is a top priority for my team, and we anticipate signing several commercial contracts with Kuwaiti companies in the near future.”
