Kuwaiti schools eye online shift for Ramadan’s final 10 days

The idea of implementing distance education in the Ministry of Education has gained traction, especially as the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan approach.
Initially, there was an agreement for only the last two days of the holy month, but sources revealed to ‘Al-Anbaa’ newspaper that the public education sector and the coordination department have prepared a memorandum.
This memorandum will be submitted to Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It includes a proposal to shift students’ work schedules to distance education for the last ten days, with teachers conducting lessons from school buildings according to the academic schedule allocated for each educational stage.
The sources explained that due to the success of the previous experience with online education and the familiarity of teachers and students with the application process, the ministry has decided to continue using it as needed.
They noted that next week Thursday coincides with the date of the parliamentary elections. Additionally, schools will be handed over to the Ministries of Interior and Justice the day before, leaving only Sunday and Monday, April 7th and 8th, open for work.
Sources stated that students may not adhere to these two working days, especially since Tuesday, April 9th, will be a day of rest even during fasting. They pointed out that “Education” has no choice but to resort to distance learning to address matters, especially considering the phenomenon of students’ absence before and after holidays. It is expected that online education will be implemented starting next Sunday after approval by Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, the Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
