Kuwait arrests Al Mutlaa Bangladeshi murder suspect within 24 hours

Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department, in coordination with the Public Security Sector, have arrested a Bangladeshi on suspicion of murdering a security guard at a property under construction in Al Mutlaa.

The arrest was made less than 24 hours after the authorities received the report on Friday morning, October 30, stating that the body of a security guard was found on the rooftop of the property.

The CID men immediately proceeded to the site to examine the incident and collect evidence. Investigations led to the arrest of a former guard at the property, whose services had been terminated one day before the corpse of the victim was found.

Investigators found the suspect had turned himself in at the Sharq Police Station in connection with an arrest warrant related to the expiry of his residency visa, apparently seeking to be deported before his connection to the murder.

When questioned, the suspect confessed to committing the crime following a dispute with the victim, who had replaced him in the job. He admitted assaulting the victim with a wooden object and a knife.

The necessary procedures are being completed to refer the suspect to the competent authorities.
