Kuwait Busts Suspect for Promoting Drug-Laced E-Cigarette Liquids
Criminal Investigation Department seizes 40 e-cigarettes and 120 ml of liquids containing a narcotic chemical

Kuwait’s General Department of Criminal Investigation has arrested a suspect accused of possessing and promoting electronic cigarettes filled with liquids containing a chemical substance used in narcotic products, as part of ongoing efforts to combat drugs and mind-altering substances.
The arrest followed investigations and intelligence gathering by the General Department for the Protection of Public Morals and Combating Human Trafficking. The suspect was allegedly involved in possessing and promoting substances containing a narcotic chemical for commercial purposes. Following the necessary legal procedures, permission was obtained from the Public Prosecution to arrest and search the suspect.
The suspect was apprehended in the Al-Firdous area, where officers seized 40 empty electronic cigarettes and a 120-milliliter bottle containing liquid suspected of containing the narcotic chemical substance. A further search of several locations in the Al-Farwaniya area led to the discovery of 24 electronic cigarettes filled with the same liquid.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted to possessing the seized items for commercial purposes and selling them to make financial gains. He also identified an intermediary through whom he obtained the substances. The necessary legal procedures are being completed ahead of referring the suspect to the competent authorities.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying efforts to combat drugs and mind-altering substances, stressing the importance of continued security operations, cooperation with relevant authorities and public awareness to curb drug trafficking and distribution and protect society from the dangers of addiction and substance abuse.
