Diesel prices have hit an all-time high of 199.18 pence per liter as the war in the Middle East continues to push the cost of fuel, said the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) on Monday.
In a statement, the RAC indicated that Petrol prices went up to 174.13 pence per liter, adding that diesel prices have entered “unchartered territory” due to the ongoing Iran war, which pushed prices of fuels extracted from oil.
The RAC indicated that prices meant that filling an average family car with diesel would now cost GBP 110, an increase of GBP 31 from when the war began back in February.
The last diesel price peak was in June 2022 at 199.09 pence. The Royal Automobile Club (RAC), a major UK-based automotive services company, was founded in 1897. – KUNA
