12 suspects arrested in possession of narcotics and psychotropic substances
The Directorate-General for Drug Control of the Ministry of Interior, announced on Sunday the arrest of 12 individuals in eight separate cases.
The suspects were found in possession of quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances intended for trafficking and personal use.
In a press statement, the Ministry stated that the Department apprehended the suspects after a series of surveillance and investigation operations.
In one case, approximately 86,700 capsules of Lyrica pills were seized, along with various other narcotics and psychotropic substances, and several precision scales.
The statement added that in another case, in coordination with the General Administration of Customs, a suspect was arrested after receiving a shipment from abroad.
The shipment contained narcotics concealed within decorative panels.
Upon being confronted with the seized items, the suspect confessed to receiving instructions from an individual abroad to receive the shipment in exchange for money.
