Al-Tabtabaei suspends use of ministry facilities by third parties pending new regulations

Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabaei has issued a ministerial decision suspending the use of Ministry of Education facilities and assets by third parties until the issuance of new regulations governing the use of educational buildings.

The decision effectively halts Ministerial Resolution No. 79 of 2003, which previously allowed other parties to utilize ministry-owned facilities.

This move comes in line with the state’s broader efforts to enhance resource efficiency, promote financial sustainability, and implement the comprehensive national reform plan, reports Al-Rai daily.

The suspension applies to all pending applications submitted for the use of Ministry facilities that have not yet received official approval. No new decisions on facility use will be issued until the new regulatory framework is finalized and approved.

The decision also mandates a comprehensive review of all existing licenses and contracts signed between the Ministry and external parties using its properties. These will be assessed under the provisions of the now-suspended 2003 resolution and in accordance with the forthcoming updated regulations.

The Ministry has instructed all relevant departments and authorities to take note of the decision and ensure its immediate and full implementation.
