Unlocking wonders: SIF-Kuwait to host Annual Science Gala on May 3

The event, which will be held at Kuwait College of Science and Technology, aims to offer experience, appreciation, motivation, and knowledge to the student community in Kuwait

  • Interaction programs featuring India’s top scientists will be part of Annual Science Gala, offering Kuwaiti students a unique opportunity to meet and learn from these renowned experts.

The Science International Forum-Kuwait is hosting the Annual Science Gala on May 3, at 4 PM at Kuwait College of Science and Technology.

This event aims to offer experience, appreciation, motivation, and knowledge to the student community in Kuwait. Interaction programs featuring India’s top scientists will be part of the gala, offering Kuwaiti students a unique opportunity to meet and learn from these renowned experts.

The chief guest for the evening will be His Excellency Dr. Adarsh Swaika, the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait. The guest of honor will be Dr. Tessy Thomas, a distinguished scientist and former Project Director of Agni 4 at Aeronautical Systems- DRDO (Rtd). Winners of Sastra Pratibha will have a unique opportunity for a personal interaction session with Dr. Tessy Thomas.

Dr. Dheeraj Bharadwaj, Group CEO of City Group KSCP, will deliver a speech on the global impact of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Dheeraj holds a PhD from IIT Delhi and was awarded the Young Scientist Award by the Indian National Science Academy in 2000. He also played a crucial role and worked alongside Dr. Vijay Bhatkar in developing India’s first supercomputer, PARAM.

SIF-Kuwait will screen the movie “G.D. Naidu: The Edison of India” at 4 PM. The movie provides invaluable insights into the life of Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, who is referred to as the “Edison of India” and “the wealth creator of Coimbatore.” He is credited with manufacturing the first electric motor in India.

Winners of the Sastra Pratibha contest, outstanding performers, KCSC winners, other category winners, outstanding performers, and short film competition winners will be felicitated at this event. More than 150 students will receive prizes during the event.

This year, the winners of the Sastra Pratibha Contest and Kuwait Children’s Science Congress for the academic year 2023 – 2024 will participate in Sastrayaan 2024, scheduled to be held in July this year. During this event, they will visit prestigious research facilities such as DRDO, HAL, ISRO, etc., in Bangalore.
