The UAE Ministry of Defense announced Tuesday that the country’s air defense systems had successfully detected and intercepted six hostile drones that attempted to target civilian and vital areas in the country over the past 48 hours.
In a statement, the ministry said technical tracking and monitoring results related to the attack on the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant on May 17 confirmed that the drones intercepted at the time, as well as those shot down later, had all originated from Iraqi territory.
The ministry affirmed the UAE’s full right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and national security, stressing its full readiness to confront any threats targeting the country’s security.
