UAE embassy in Kuwait celebrates World Blood Donor Day

The humanitarian initiative reflects the embassy's commitment to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, observed annually on June 14.

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, His Excellency Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the State of Kuwait, along with several UAE mission employees, visited the blood bank and donated blood. This humanitarian initiative reflects the embassy’s commitment to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, observed annually on June 14.

Leading by example, Dr. Al Neyadi and his team visited the Central Blood Bank of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, where they were warmly welcomed by Dr. Hanan Al-Awadhi, Medical Director of the Blood Transfusion Services Department. Dr. Al-Awadhi praised the initiative, highlighting the UAE embassy’s dedication to promoting humanitarian values.

The ambassador remarked, “This humanitarian initiative is part of the embassy’s efforts to support the health sector and emphasize the importance of blood donation as a critical humanitarian act. It helps meet the growing demand for blood in hospitals and medical centers worldwide.”

He further noted that blood donation has significant societal benefits, such as saving lives and positively impacting the donor’s health, while also fostering values of humanity, altruism, social responsibility, partnership, and a culture of charitable humanitarian work.
