The UAE Ministry of Defense announced today that its air defense systems are actively responding to missile and drone threats launched from Iran.
In a statement posted on its official account on X, the ministry said that the sounds heard in several parts of the country were the result of air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles, while fighter jets were deployed to intercept drones and cruise missiles, reports Al-Rai daily.
The ministry emphasized that the defense systems were operating to neutralize the incoming threats and protect the country’s airspace.
The announcement comes amid escalating regional tensions and a series of attacks targeting several countries across the Gulf region.
