US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Lebanon’s Hezbollah and the Israeli occupation had agreed to halt mutual attacks and cease all exchanges of fire.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he held a “very productive” phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that Netanyahu confirmed no Israeli military forces would be deployed to Beirut.
Trump added that any Israeli forces previously heading toward the Lebanese capital had already been recalled.
He also said he held discussions with Hezbollah through senior representatives, indicating that the group had likewise agreed to a complete ceasefire with Israel.
The remarks came amid ongoing international efforts to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation along the Lebanese-Israeli front. – Kuna
