Tragic incident strikes Filipino Mother and son in Salmiyah, leaving son deceased

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Salmiyah on Thursday, as a mother and her five-year-old son were struck by a car while attempting to cross the street. The mother and son, who had just alighted from a bus, were making their way across the road when tragedy struck. Witnesses reported that a speeding vehicle, driven by a Sudanese national, lost control and struck the pair, resulting in devastating consequences. The young boy, tragically lost his life at the scene, while his mother sustained serious injuries and was promptly rushed to the hospital.
Currently, the mother is receiving medical attention and has been referred to the orthopedic department for further evaluation and treatment of her injuries. Authorities swiftly detained the driver, who is currently under investigation. Friends who knew the family have expressed their condolences and are rallying support for the grieving couple.
