Traffic enforcement drive records 3,278 violations in a single day
- 17 wanted persons arrested as traffic police intensify nationwide

A nationwide traffic enforcement campaign launched by Kuwait’s General Traffic Department last Tuesday resulted in the issuance of 3,278 traffic violations within 24 hours, as authorities intensified efforts to improve road safety and enforce traffic regulations.
The violations included speeding, mobile phone use while driving, towing-related offences, radar violations and illegal window tinting, according to security officials.
During the campaign, traffic patrols also arrested 17 individuals wanted on outstanding arrest warrants or for residency-related violations, who were referred to the competent security authorities for further legal action.
Authorities also apprehended four juveniles for driving without valid licences, while three individuals were placed in 48-hour precautionary detention. In addition, one vehicle was impounded under a judicial order.
The enforcement drive extended to hospitals across the country, where traffic officers issued 184 violations for offences including illegal parking and obstruction of traffic. Three vehicles were also impounded for 60 days for violating traffic regulations.
The Ministry of Interior said the campaign forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen road safety, ensure compliance with traffic laws and curb reckless driving across Kuwait.
