The Ministry of Interior has warned animal owners against abandoning pets or leaving animals in public places, urging those who can no longer care for them to contact the emergency number 112 and coordinate with the relevant authorities. The ministry also urged citizens and residents who encounter stray dogs to keep a safe distance, avoid approaching the animals and provide authorities with their precise location by calling 112 so that appropriate measures can be taken in coordination with the competent authorities.
The ministry stressed that animal owners must comply with laws and regulations governing the possession and care of animals, emphasizing that abandoning animals in public places is prohibited. Owners who are unable to continue caring for their animals were advised to contact 112 to arrange for the animals to be handled or received by the relevant authorities.
