Traffic Department to lift violations blocks at upcoming exhibition, new fines effective April 22
Exhibition will focus on public awareness, camera systems, and unblocking of violations
Brigadier Mohammed Al-Subhan, Chairman of the Unified Gulf Traffic Week Committee, announced that the Traffic Department will lift all traffic violation (blocks), except those related to parking in spaces designated for the disabled, during the upcoming traffic exhibition at Al-Khiran and Avenues malls.
He clarified that vehicles impounded for unpaid fines have been released once the dues were settled, according to Al-Jarida daily.
The exhibition, starting Sunday at The Avenues Mall, will focus on public awareness, the department’s camera systems, and the unblocking of violations.
Al-Subhan also noted that the new traffic fines will take effect on the April 22, and violations before that date will be subject to the previous fine rates, with amendments to the new traffic law not being applied retroactively.
