China has formally launched a trade dispute with India at the World Trade Organization (WTO), challenging Indian tariffs and regulations on solar cells, solar modules, and IT goods.
The WTO confirmed that China has requested dispute consultations with India, citing measures that it claims discriminate against Chinese imports and conditionally favor the use of domestic inputs.
The move marks an escalation in economic tensions between the two Asian giants, according to news reports.
China’s complaint highlights concerns over India’s treatment of imports in key technology and renewable energy sectors, signaling potential implications for trade relations and ongoing negotiations in these industries.
