The Ministry of Commerce suspended ration card benefits for 4,000 beneficiaries after their nationalities were revoked.
Informed sources told Al-Rai that recent statistics related to the decisions to withdraw and revoke nationalities over the past period revealed, that more than 1,800 individuals had their nationalities withdrawn, despite having received construction support of 30,000 dinars.
This is granted by the state to owners of residential vouchers. Additionally, the number of individuals who received housing loans from the Credit Bank, worth 70,000 dinars was also limited.
The sources pointed out that officials at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry; are currently auditing the records of individuals who had their nationalities withdrawn. This audit aims to identify those who have received construction support and to submit a detailed report to the relevant authorities.
The authorities will then take necessary actions, which could include halting disbursement of construction support if the individual’s nationality was revoked prior to receiving the support. In cases where payments have already been made, there could be partial suspension of the support.
In a similar context, the sources stated that the Ministry of Commerce has suspended the ration card benefits for approximately 4,000 beneficiaries so far, including both the individuals and their family members, following decisions to withdraw their nationalities.
The sources also indicated that the suspension of transactions for those who have had their nationalities revoked is not limited to financial procedures, but also extends to other traditional entitlements like ration supplies.
