Third national debt campaign nears two million dinar mark
Donations for the debt settlement campaign surged, fueled by strong community engagement and generous contributions from philanthropists.

• The third debt settlement campaign has drawn 12,470 donors, showcasing strong social solidarity, with notable contributions of KD 1 million and KD 25,000 from philanthropists.
Donations for the third national campaign to settle debtors’ debts neared KD 2 million on Sunday, reaching KD 1.958 million, driven by strong community engagement and generous contributions from philanthropists, Al Qabas newspaper reported.
The campaign has so far registered 12,470 donors, reflecting strong social and humanitarian solidarity with financially distressed groups.
It has witnessed notable contributions, including a KD 1 million donation from a philanthropist and another contribution of KD 25,000.
Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, expects further significant donations in the coming period and praised the strong engagement of the community and its institutions in supporting the campaign’s goal of easing financial burdens on indebted citizens.
Donations will be accepted until April 14. Since the campaign’s launch, around 1,100 debtors have registered under the “debtors” category in the central aid system.
Notably, the campaign aligns with the political leadership’s directives to enhance social solidarity and ease citizens’ financial burdens under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
