Axios, citing a U.S. official and two informed sources, reported that Iran has submitted a new proposal to the United States via Pakistan which is acting as an intermediary.
The proposal reportedly seeks the following:
Immediate priority, end the war and de-escalation — the proposal focuses first on halting the ongoing conflict and reducing military escalation as a step toward stabilizing the region before addressing deeper disputes.
Reopening the Strait of Hormuz — a central condition is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy shipping route. Iran has linked this to easing maritime tensions and restoring normal oil and trade flows.
Postponing nuclear negotiations — Iran proposes that nuclear talks be delayed to a later stage, instead of being addressed immediately. This effectively separates the nuclear issue from the current ceasefire/de-escalation track.
