TEF-Kuwait celebrated International Women’s Day with inspiring sessions, honoring women’s achievements

The Tamil Nadu Engineers Forum (TEF), Kuwait, proudly celebrated International Women’s Day on Friday, 7th March 2025, at the Safir International Hotel in Fintas, opening the evening at 6:15 PM with the heartfelt rendition of “Tamil Thai Vazhthu.”

The event began with a “safety moment” by Mrs. Deepa Kapil, who underscored the significance of safety in both professional and personal spheres. Following this, Mrs. Malathi Kalaiarasan delivered a beautiful recitation of a Thirukkural, emphasizing the essential role of women in society and setting a thoughtful tone for the evening.

Mrs. Mahalakshami Raja delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the attendees and setting the tone for the evening. Her speech honored women’s achievements and paved the way for the inspiring sessions ahead, featuring distinguished speakers and key discussions.

Mrs. Nithya Vadivelan introduced the evening’s first speaker, Dr. Anindita Medhi, MD (Dermatology) from Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Centre, who presented a session titled “Radiance Unveiled: Skin and Hair Care Secrets.”

Dr. Medhi shared valuable insights on skin and hair health, providing practical tips for maintaining a radiant appearance. The session resonated well with attendees, who found the advice both informative and useful for daily self-care.

Thereafter, Mrs. Amutha Subramanian introduced Ms. Ghalyah Al Ansari, a Data Scientist at the National Bank of Kuwait and Founder of Adapture. In her session, “Women in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics,” Ms. Ghalyah shared her personal experiences and challenges as a woman in the tech industry. Her inspiring journey motivated attendees to explore careers in STEM, empowering them to break barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields.

Mrs. Vinodhini Kishore introduced the next speaker, Dr. Shyamala Ramesh Babu, a renowned motivational speaker, leading educator, and founder of Chisel & Evolve. In her session, “பெண் எனும் ஆணிவேர் (The Woman – The Strength of Society),”
Furthermore, Dr. Shyamala highlighted the pivotal role of women in shaping society’s foundation. She emphasized their nurturing power and profound influence on family structures, offering a compelling perspective on the significance of women in both the family unit and the wider community.

A dynamic and engaging Q&A session led by Dr. Vijayalakshmi Anantharaj and Dr. Rumia Justin, provided all the attendees with an opportunity to interact directly with the speakers, seek valuable advice, and gain clarity on their queries.

The presenters were honored with shawls, garlands, and mementos as a token of appreciation for their inspiring and empowering addresses, recognizing their valuable contributions to the event.

Mrs. Eswari Balasubramanian and Mrs. Judy Arun Golden expertly anchored the event, ensuring a seamless flow of proceedings while keeping the atmosphere lively and engaging throughout.

The evening wrapped up with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs. Pradhama Maniyarasu, who expressed sincere gratitude to the speakers, sponsors, participants, and attendees for their contributions in making the event a resounding success.

After the sessions, attendees gathered for a dinner, providing a wonderful opportunity for networking and continued discussions. It was the perfect conclusion to an inspiring evening, as guests exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and built meaningful connections.
