TEC sets Aug 23–30 window for monthly boat berth applications at 3 facilities
The Tourism Enterprises Company (TEC) has opened applications for the monthly use of vacant marine berths and land-based parking spaces at three facilities at Al Shaab Marina, Al Fahaheel Marine Club and Al Khairan Park.
The available spaces are for boats ranging in size from 25 feet to 42 feet. Applications will be accepted from August 23 to August 30 and must be submitted electronically through the company’s website. A valid boat licence is a mandatory requirement. Applicants must also electronically declare that the information provided in their application is accurate.
Applications that meet the requirements will be evaluated electronically using set criteria. Boat size compared with the available berths accounts for 60% of the evaluation, while the age of the boat accounts for 20% and the length of time the boat has been registered in the applicant’s name accounts for another 20%.
Eligible applications will be ranked from highest to lowest according to their total evaluation score. Priority will be given to applicants who do not already have a marina berth or another parking space registered in their name with the Tourism Projects Company.
Final approval will depend on meeting the applicable requirements under Decree Law No. 61 of 2026 issuing the Law on Maritime Establishments and Floating Units, as well as the basic system governing the company’s maritime clubs, marinas and land parking spaces.
The company stressed that submitting an application does not guarantee allocation. Allocation will depend on the electronic evaluation results and the availability of a berth suitable for the applicant’s boat size.
The company also said that publishing the announcement does not create an obligation toward applicants or other parties. It reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the announcement without giving reasons.
The use of the allocated berth or parking space will be on a monthly basis. Marina or club management may require a berth or parking space to be vacated for the public interest or for reasons announced at the time, provided the user is notified 15 days before the subscription expiry date.
