Swiss Foreign Minister arrives in Kuwait to inaugurate new embassy building

Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis arrived in Kuwait on Friday evening for an official visit, during which he will inaugurate the new Swiss Embassy building in the Qadsiya area on Saturday, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Cassis is accompanied by a 12-member delegation, including four journalists. His visit comes as part of a regional tour that included the Jordanian capital, Amman, and the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, where he also inaugurated the Swiss Embassy after 33 years of closure.

The Swiss Embassy had been located in the Qurtuba area for more than 25 years before relocating to its new premises in Qadsiya, which will be officially inaugurated tomorrow.

Minister Cassis is scheduled to leave Kuwait on Saturday afternoon following the opening ceremony.
