Suspect arrested by Interpol, extradited to Kuwait

The Criminal Investigation Department, in collaboration with the Anti-Money Crimes Department and the Interpol, was able to arrest a fugitive who had escaped from the country after embezzling more than 300,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

The Public Funds Prosecution had issued a search and arrest warrant against the suspect who was wanted by law for forging and tampering with documents and invoices. A research team was formed by the Anti-Money Crimes Department and then coordinated efforts with the UAE Interpol and to extradite the suspect who was subsequently arrested by the UAE authorities and handed over to Kuwait, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The accused is being investigated and he and those involved are referred to the competent authority in order to take all necessary legal measures.

The Ministry of Interior thanked the Public Prosecution for the fruitful cooperation, in addition to the quick and decisive interaction with the incident by the Emirati authorities in the process of arresting the person, and the necessary measures were taken against him as soon as he got off the plane and was handed over to the State of Kuwait in record time in implementation of Gulf and international agreements.
