GTD cracks down on traffic law violations in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh

Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Adwani, Assistant Director of the General Traffic Department for Technical Affairs, has affirmed the department’s ongoing efforts to combat all forms of traffic violations, particularly those arising from unauthorized garages and workshops operating in violation of the law.

In a recent statement to Al-Jarida, Al-Adwani emphasized the department’s commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens, residents, and road users by eliminating such illegal activities.

Al-Adwani highlighted the significant growth of negative phenomena, especially in areas like Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, and assured that concerted government efforts are underway to address these issues.

During a recent security campaign in the area, a five-member committee comprising representatives from various government sectors targeted unauthorized garages and workshops, resulting in the closure of 32 unlicensed workshops and the issuance of numerous warnings and summonses.

Major Abdullah Bu Hassan, from the Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department at the General Traffic Department, provided further details of the campaign’s outcomes.

This included the issuance of 190 traffic violations, seizure of vehicles, and closure of workshops operating without licenses. Additionally, inspectors from various government agencies arrested violators of residency and labor laws, placed warnings on abandoned vehicles, and closed unlicensed restaurants and grocery stores.

Furthermore, inspectors discovered stolen electrical cables in a warehouse and arrested individuals involved in their theft. These collaborative efforts reflect Kuwait’s determination to enforce traffic laws and maintain public safety.
