State final accounts reveal rising revenues, ongoing deficit

The State Financial Administration’s final accounts for fiscal year 2024/2025 revealed a rise in state revenues alongside a budget deficit of KD 1.055 billion.
Taxes and fees increased from KD 550.9 million to KD 606.4 million, while social contributions reached KD 111.9 million. Revenues from goods, services, and other sources grew significantly to KD 1.9 billion, compared to KD 1.4 billion in 2023/2024, reports Al-Jarida daily.
On the expenditure side, workers’ compensation amounted to KD 9.6 billion, goods and services reached KD 3.38 billion, and subsidies totaled KD 1.12 billion. Grants accounted for KD 5.57 billion, social benefits KD 794.1 million, other expenditures and transfers KD 1.4 billion, and capital expenditures KD 1.13 billion.
According to Decree-Law No. 106 of 2025, revenues for ministries and government departments reached KD 22 billion, while total expenditures stood at KD 23.1 billion, reflecting the fiscal gap.
